A day without Smoleńsk? The analysis of changes in information policy after the presidential plane crash on April 10th 2010

The article discusses the transformation of information policy of the most popular Polish news portals after the April 10th 2010 presidential plane crash. Three issues are considered: domination of the Smoleńsk discourse in media agenda, changes in the way issues related to Russia are covered, and the relation between a high level of media coverage and public activity. The research was carried out between January 16th and November 14th 2010, with the use of custom software designed to analyze the media agenda of internet news portals.
