“Prawdzywe y gruntowne Nowiny […]”, i.e. First Attempts Aimed at Media Image Creation
Beata Stuchlik-Surowiak
This article presents the issue of image building in the 16th century ephemeral newspapers which gave rise to the Polish press and which preceded serial newspapers released later. On the basis of a print of 1580 entitled “Prawdzywe y gruntowne Nowiny” describing the war between Stephen Báthory and Ivan the Terrible, the author of the article proves that the methods used in the press over four hundred years ago are the same as the ones used by contemporary public relations specialists.
