Public media – citizen or national? The parliamentary discourse on media in the context of the latest amendments to the Law on Radio and Television

Since its enactment in 1992 Law on Radio and Television was amended many times. The purpose of amendments was to enable staff changes in public media. After successful election PiS announces a new reform of the public media. Among the politicians of all options in Sejm the prevailing opinion is that the media need to be repaired. Article will discuss controversy around the reform started by the government in 2015. The basis of the analysis are: the parliamentary debate on the recent amendment, proposed by PiS, to the law on public media and the results of a survey, conducted by MamPrawoWiedziec.pl in Autumn 2015.
