What are New Media - A Characteristic

Lately, the term new media has definitely gained a new meaning, becoming one of the more trendy and popular phrases. This article attempts to answer the questions - what are new media and how do they differ from the traditional. What specific characteristics do the new media possess which make us differentiate them from the old? Their constitutive characteristics allow us to reach the conclusion that we are dealing with new media quality, therefore, justified is the use of the adjective new. The author makes a hypothesis that the onset of new media does not mean the end of traditional since taking place between them is the process of growing convergence.
