Official Photographic Services Evaluated by Polish Printed Media in Light of the Materials of the Press Commission of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party in the Years 1959-1961

The study presents origins and type of activities of the Central Photographic Agency, which officially provided photographs for Polish press since 1951.Originally the Agency was supposed to operate at the Polish Press Agency, however, it came under the powers of Labour Publishing Cooperative “Prasa”. This article summaries the first decade of activities of Central Photographic Agency; it focuses on opinions of the press of that day on the Agency’s activities.
