Medial image of a woman and the process of learning political roles

Active participation of women in political, self-governmental life constitutes one of the basic criteria for the evaluation of social life democratization. However, their presence in political life institutions in Poland is still disproportionately low. Interesting from the sociological point of view determinants of women political participation, i.e. social factors, include among others: social-cultural models determining different expectations towards way of behaviour, features, values and aspirations of men and women. Mass media researchers pay attention to the contribution of communication in forming psycho-social sex dimension.
