This article is an in-depth analysis of modern media holiday customs. Greetings can serve as a comprehensive area of media research, both as language communication tools and as tools of image creation. Greetings by editorial staff can differ not just in style, language and graphic design. They are often also carriers of a publisher’s ideology, they reflect editor’s relationship with readers and allow us to delineate the level of ramification in a given paper. Moreover, they show how deeply rooted into culture the paper is and reveal the publisher’s attitude to tradition. Greeting definitely mirror modern day polite behaviour standards in mass communication.
