Polyphonic report novel

Marek Miller

The goal of the article is to present the concept of a polyphonic report novel. This is a concept drawn up at University of Warsaw’s Journalism Institute Report Laboratory. The Laboratory is a place for journalist experiments and quests. This is where teams of journalists work on a text, tell stories using multimedia means, penetrate the sphere in between journalism and literature, journalism and playwriting, and journalism and screenplay writing. When combining novel and report writing, polyphony becomes the key concept, with a focus on the novel’s objectivity, directness and its socio-community philosophy. The text deals with the issue of a polyphonic report novel’s relations to history, drama and film screenplay as well as other realization issues gained from experience.
