Are media new? A polemic

The article undertakes an attempt of a polemic on phenomenon “new media”. The author wonders whether applying of such nomenclature would be justified in context of etymology and partly in the genealogy of media. The author refers to media studies expert findings in order to show the specificity of modern media and to assign to them the range influence from the chronological perspective. An essential matter here is to refer to the acts of communication as basis of defining the forms and, in a way, the range of modern media influence.
