Political economy of the foreign capital presence in Poland

The study examines theoretical backgrounds of the application of political economy of mass communication approach to understanding phenomenon’s and processes which took place in the Polish media system in the conditions of growing presence of foreign capital. The problems of influences of the regulatory frameworks, questions of public sphere in mass media, idea of openness and diversity of media system, impact of globalization and internationalization are under consideration. Basing on particular problems like commercialization of the public mission, liberalization and privatization there are analyzed consequences of those phenomenons for future development of the Polish media system and regulatory policy. The article includes much statistical information about media system.
