Media literacy as a component of the media competence of young Poles generation – reconnaissance

Mature use of the media, both in the role of sender and receiver, requires an appropriate level of media literacy. The knowledge about the media is one of the components of media literacy. The article contains the results of the research which was carried out among students from secondary school. The study aims at presenting initial diagnosis of their media knowledge. This includes, above all, knowledge on media types, genres and so on.
