English version of the article
The Polish political scene is experiencing a period of right wing party domination. It seems that left wing parties do not have effective ideas for promotion of their image which would attract voters. Left wing party rule in the mid 1990s and in early XXI century have lead to widespread disappointment and since then there has been no effective media campaign which would improve their image. The stagnation is true for both "old" post-communist parties and new, "true leftist" initiatives. These parties seem to be out of touch with the poor, socially deprived or liberal environments and do not have a clear mission. These are the results obtained from a research conducted by the Analysis of Social Inequalities Research Unit at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IFiS PAN). The conclusion is that these days the term "left wing" has lost its meaning.
