Gender identity is continually undergoing reconstruction. It is a process of redefining the personal 'I' in the confrontation with culture - neither femininity nor masculinity are ever conclusively defined. In post modern culture we are dealing with a negotiation of identity between the sexes. It is a exceptionally contextual process, dependent on the clash between the dynamics of social change and tradition. This article attempts to describe and to analyze the phenomenon of metro-sexuality through the prism of classic and modern sociologic theories.
