Student radio in Olsztyn - history, contemporaneity, prospects

The history of student radio in Olsztyn starts from early fifties.

Radio Kortowo, which was active at Akademia Rolniczo-Techniczna, was one of the first student cable radio stations in Poland. Journalists working there produced programs of the highest quality, which resulted in many prizes. In 1969 at Wyższa Szkoła Pedagogiczna was formed the second student cable radio station in Olsztyn - Radio Emitor. The tradition of student radio journalism in Olsztyn is continued by Radio UWM FM, which in 2000 obtained the license to broadcast.
