Latin-American approach to the media or business as usual – thoughts on the foreign capital presence in the Polish media

Following to the J. Becker’s concept, who used the term “Latin-American approach to the media” for description of peripheral model of capitalism, which is steered by multinational capital coming from financial centers of contemporary world, the Author formulates is own definition of the problem. In particular is indicating elements of wide, planned and long-term activities of groups of strong publishers, who are connected by common interests, with an aim to conquest market, to gain financial profits as well as to promote their firms, branches, industries and countries (and those countries economy, culture, socio-political models an so on). Analyzing foreign capital investments in Polish media the Author did not formulate unambiguous thesis about existence of political influences of foreign publishers on the media content.
