McLuhan's tribal drum. On the ensnarement of a rapt audience

The article considers the influence of radio on the mass listener. The author is of the opinion that, despite the passage of time, recent research findings confirm McLuhan's theory that radio stations sustain moods and heighten emotions rather than inform and educate. A fact of which both George Bush's advisors on the Middle East and the owners of profiled radio stations are well aware.
